Position Overview
The Company is seeking a General Superintendent to lead all field operations across Federal and Commercial Divisions. This senior leadership role is responsible for project execution, workforce performance, safety compliance, and operational excellence across multiple projects.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in concrete, asphalt paving, grading, and demolition, along with a strong track record managing field teams, coordinating resources, and delivering projects on time and within budget. This role will also help shape field strategy, mentor staff, and support business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Operations

Oversee field operations across multiple projects
Lead and develop foremen and crews
Ensure safe, efficient execution in compliance with contract requirements
Manage equipment, fleet, and drivers
Drive schedule, productivity, and quality accountability

Project Execution

Review plans, specs, and schedules for efficiency and constructability
Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials
Monitor progress, mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions
Ensure successful project starts, sequencing, and closeouts

Safety & Compliance

Enforce OSHA and federal safety standards (including EM 385-1-1)
Promote a strong safety culture
Ensure compliance with NAVFAC, USACE, and commercial requirements

Cost & Performance

Monitor field productivity and support cost control
Assist with change orders and documentation
Partner with Project Managers to align operations with financial goals

Client & Business Support

Maintain strong relationships with clients and agency representatives
Support preconstruction with field insights and constructability input
Contribute to proposal strategies and identify new opportunities

Strategic Leadership

Serve as a key leadership team member
Drive continuous improvement in field operations
Support growth across markets and contract vehicles

Qualifications

15+ years of construction experience, focused on concrete and asphalt paving
10+ years in a Superintendent or senior field role
Proven experience managing multiple projects and crews
Strong background in site development, grading, and demolition
Federal project experience (NAVFAC, USACE, DoD) preferred
Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and productivity
Ability to interpret plans and specifications
Excellent leadership and communication skills

Certifications (Preferred)

OSHA 30 (required)
EM 385-1-1 familiarity or certification
